REACH-registration of SMA Mineral Group’s substances
European Regulation (EC) 1907/2006 concerning the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH) entered into force in European Union on June 1st 2007. One of the obligations under REACH is the registration of chemical substances.
SMA Mineral Group has completed the registrations of calcium oxide (burnt lime), calcium dihydroxide (hydrated lime), calcium magnesium oxide (dolime) and magnesium hydroxide.
Minerals which occur in nature and are not chemically modified, such as calcium carbonate and dolomite, are exempted from registrations (Section 7 of Annex V). Magnesium oxide is also exempted from registration (Section 10 of Annex V), and consequently will not be registered.
